A MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL

Welcome to the thrill and excitement of learning at Franklin High School. The high school years are a period of tremendous growth for children and we are anxious to deepen their knowledge and challenge their thinking.  We work with our students to grow their dendrites and to stretch their minds!  We want them to be curious about the world and to wonder how everything fits together.  We expect them to ask questions.  Our students should see themselves as college-bound and understand that learning is a lifelong journey.   

Franklin High School has earned a reputation for personal warmth, academic challenge, and a family feel.  Our school climate is based upon developing a sense of responsibility versus trying to instill a rigid obedience.  We have high behavioral expectations for our students and they will be held to account for their actions, but parents can also expect that we listen to and work with their developing children.  The high school years often feel like a roller coaster ride, but we are all on the ride together and we quite enjoy the dips, twists, and turns.  Inevitably, with our partnership of patience and persistence, our ninth graders turn into twelfth graders and they move on as responsible young adults.

Franklin High School is committed to teaching the whole child which means we recognize that students have gifts beyond the academic world.  We offer many wonderful opportunities for student growth through our extensive co-curricular offerings.   Whether it be through music, art, student government, theater, or athletics, our programs allow students to learn individual skills, showcase their talents, and develop leadership and character. Our co-curricular programs are a great source of strength and pride for our school community.
