The Livonia Career Technical Center received the Michigan Department of Education’s 2010 Excellence in Practice Award at the DeVos Place Convention Center in Grand Rapids, Michigan on February 1, 2010. The top honor from the state was given for the academic integration of Algebra II into the CTE programs at the Career Center.  Patty Cantu, State Director, Office of Career and Technical Education, stated that, “LCTC’s academic integration program exemplifies the highest standards in preparing Michigan’s students for higher education and careers.”  In recognition of the Career center’s achievements, a special awards ceremony was held.  Dr. Haas, principal, Kevin Etue, North Central Accreditation Chair, and Angela Krolikowski, Algebra II instructor were present to accept the award on behalf of the entire staff.

As you select your courses for 11^th grade, consider the award winning Algebra II component integrated within the LCTC programs.
