Welcome Back to School!!

I would like to welcome you to the 2011-2012 school year. It is a very exciting time of the year and we are very happy to welcome 27 new families to our Roosevelt family. Our enrollment remains steady, down a few students from last year but generally holding around 380 students.

We had many children and families visit their new teachers and classmates at our annual Open House which was held August 31st and now we look forward to our first PTA meeting on Tuesday, September 13th at 7:00 p.m. Please plan on joining us that evening in the community room to meet your new PTA board and find out about the exciting things that PTA has planned for this school year.

Next, Curriculum Night for grades 1 & 2 will be held On Wednesday, September 14th. Please plan on attending that evening in your child's classroom to hear the presentation prepared for you by his/or her teacher. Grade 1 teachers will present that evening from 6:00-6:40 p.m. and Grade 2 teachers will present from 6:45-7:30 p.m.

Grades 3 & 4 Curriculum Night is on Tuesday, September 20th. Grade 3 teachers are presenting to parents from 6:00-6:40 p.m. and Grade 4 teachers are presenting to parents from 6:45-7:30 p.m. Parents will learn about curricular expectations that night, as well as individual teacher expectations and routines. We hope you can join us for this adult only informative event.

Please remember, Parent-Teacher Conference sign-up begins at Curriculum Night. Sign up early to ensure the time-slot that is convenient for you.

School Picture Day is Tuesday, September 20th. Envelopes will be coming home soon.
