Welcome from Mrs. Feldman Welcome to Grant Elementary School for the 2009-2010 school year! On behalf of our students, our staff, and our community, I invite you to peruse our website and use it as a tool for staying informed about our school. We are a K-4 Elementary learning community with 491 students, 42 staff members, and a very dedicated and educationally conscious community.
At Grant Elementary we are committed to the children with whom we work, and work as partners with our parent and school community to create an environment where children are valued, respected and learning is limitless. We believe it is our responsibility to provide a safe, secure learning community where children and adults are inspired to be lifelong learners. We take our responsibilities for educating our students very seriously, and review data on a continuous basis to ensure that our instruction meets both state and district guidelines and is tailored to the needs of our individual students. Our goal is continuous improvement and our school improvement process addresses the needs of all students and focuses our instruction to maximize student learning and achievement. We are truly fortunate to have an active, involved and caring Parent Teacher Association (PTA) which provides numerous enrichment opportunities for our boys and girls at Grant Elementary. Our parents, grandparents, and community volunteer countless hours of their time to work in classrooms, participate in field trips, attend and plan school functions, and support our school with dollars, hard work, and a lot of love! As Margaret Mead, a well-known anthropologist, has said: "Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens, can change the world; indeed, it is the only thing which ever has." At Grant Elementary, we believe we are that small group of thoughtful, committed citizens and invite you to become an active participant in our very special and unique learning community.
