What crazy winter weather!  I know that many of you wouldn’t agree with me, but I would much prefer snow over rain…at least kids can play in it!  The rain and warmth have turned our grounds to mud. Please continue to send your child in boots and be understanding if they arrive home a little dirtier than when they left you.

The weather has also brought to light another issue.  Several of you are parking on the grass by the stop sign both before and after school.  I understand that this saves you 30 seconds getting out of the parking lot, but it is causing huge ruts in the ground that is part of our Buchanan Oasis Garden.  The ground around those trees is being compacted which affects their roots.  This is an area that we use a lot for outdoor study and we hate to see it ruined.  As soon as possible, we will smooth it out, plant new grass and rope it off from cars.  If you could help us now by parking in the parking lot, it would prevent further damage and be much appreciated.
