Attention all students that are PTSA members. We have been very fortunate to offer a music scholarship that can help your musical development. PTSA has offered $1000 to our music department for scholarship money. Students have the opportunity to earn $25 to $100 in scholarship money. The scholarship takes place on Wed. March 14 after school from 3-5:30pm. Students must prepare a piece of music that best represents your playing. Students can play a solo in your method book (end of book), a piece from Solo and Ensemble, or visit our music library to prepare a piece. Students also need to fill out the PTSA scholarship form (can be found in the music room) and make a copy of your piece for the judge (See Mr. Rais to make a copy). Our special guest judge will be listening to the students. Sign up form for a 5 minute time slot goes up this week and can be found on our music board in the room.

A note from the High School music director:

- 8th grade students have been given the CHS Marching Band Packet.
Please contact: ehering@livonia.k12.mi.us for any questions.

Attention All 8th Grade Band and Orchestra Students....

Dear Parents of 8th grade band and orchestra students,

As your student wraps up their 8th grade year, I invite you to sign up
for the Churchill High School Music e-mail list.   Throughout the summer
I may send occasional e-mails with information that is pertinent to the
ensembles your child will perform with.  This will be especially
important to future marching band members as there are summer
rehearsals, camps and meetings.  In the fall I have all of my students
sign themselves and a parent up for the weekly newsletters.  Each Sunday
you will receive an e-mail with dates, deadlines, and information for
the events of the week.  It's a great way to stay in communication when
your student may forget to bring home important information.

To sign up for the e-mail list please visit my teacher page:
www.livonia.k12.mi.us/webpages/ehering  and click on the envelope in the
upper right hand corner.  You will also find other useful information on
this site.  Look at the drop down menus on the left to find calendars,
registrations, and handbooks.  Just a reminder that Drumline
registration is due Monday June 8 and is found under "My Resources".
Marching Band registration is due June 15 and is found under the same
menu.

Don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.  I look forward
to working with your children in the fall.
