Livonia Public Schools Creative and Performing Arts (CAPA) program will present a unique theatrical experience for audiences next weekend, as they bring the real-life drama, “Hands on a Hard Body” to life in the Churchill High School’s intimate Black Box Theater.

According to Director Angie Hillman, the musical will be performed “in the round,”  with a real pickup truck being the center focus. “Hands on a Hard Body” is based on the true story and documentary about a “hands on a truck” contest that took place in Texas in the late 1990s. Contestants had to test their will and stamina to see who could keep their hands placed on a truck for the longest period of time. The production features music written by Trey Anastasio from the jam-band-style rock band, Phish, with lyrics by Amanda Green and is based on the book by Doug Wright.

Hillman encourages audiences of all ages to join in this fun performance – tickets are still available for the 1 p.m. matinee shows on Saturday, Nov. 17 and Sunday, Nov. 18, but they are selling fast! To order tickets, call (734) 744-2650 ext. 76256.
