Welcome to the 2019-2020 school year!  My name is Katie Emert and I am so excited to be your child’s 3rd grade teacher!  I have been teaching for 22 years and this is my third year here at Randolph Elementary!  Prior to Randolph, I taught 4th grade and was the resource room teacher at Cleveland Elementary for 9 years.  I lived in Maryland before moving to Michigan in 2007, having taught both 3rd and 4th grade there as well!

I attended the University of Delaware where I graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Elementary and Special Education.  I then attended the University of Wilmington and received my Master’s degree in Special Education. My husband is the director of the Huron Valley Jaguars soccer club and we have three children.  Owen will be starting his sophmore year in high school and he is 15. Brody is in 7th grade and he is 12. My daughter Addison will be a fourth grader this year and she is 9 years old. They keep me very busy between their soccer, wrestling, archery, and gymnastics activities.  When I am not running them around to their activities, I enjoy playing soccer, reading, water skiing and, of course, cheering on my favorite team, the Detroit Lions!
