Dear Second Grade Families,

 Welcome to the new school year!  I am truly delighted to again be part of the Kennedy Elementary School community as your child’s second grade teacher! I’m looking forward to an exciting year of teaching and learning!

 As a graduate from Eastern Michigan University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education, I’m a highly qualified, state professionally certified, math and science teacher (who happens to love reading and writing).  I am experienced in teaching Reading and Writing Workshops as part of a balanced-literacy language arts program. I have completed additional courses at Eastern to further my expertise in teaching reading/language arts to early elementary students.

 I love teaching and I have been very happy teaching here at Kennedy Elementary School. I’ve been teaching at Kennedy since 2011, and prior, I taught at Grant Elementary and  Riley Upper Elementary schools in Livonia. 

My daughter grew up attending Livonia Public Schools and our family has made Livonia our home for over twenty-five years.  I enjoy reading, gardening, picnicking, camping, and the beach! Our family loves the great outdoors!  

 I’m very excited to see all of your children become more confident readers and writers and watch them grow as independent learners and thinkers in our community classroom committed to learning!  I so look forward to working with you!
