Hello and happy new school year!
This year marks my 24th year of working in education with Livonia Public Schools. My career began at Randolph Elementary school as a second grade teacher. From there, I had the pleasure of teaching both 3rd and 4th grade over the next 14 years. In 2015, I was offered a position to take on a new role as an EST (Elementary Support Teacher) at Grant Elementary School. I graciously accepted the position and this will be my 9th year as an EST. I absolutely love this position, as I am able to wear many hats on a daily basis. Some of these roles include working as a reading interventionist, setting up social groups, handling medical plans for students, handling discipline issues, and working closely with both my partner, Mrs. Parsons, and administrator, Mrs. Mazzoni, to ensure the smooth running our our exceptional school community. Did I mention that I love my job?
In my free time, I love reading, fitness, cooking, traveling, going to concerts, and spending time with my 3 stepsons, little dog Chloe, and my husband Chris who is a media specialist at Roosevelt Elementary. What was YOUR favorite summer memory this year? I had the opportunity to travel to Amsterdam and Paris with my husband and explore the beauty and history of these increddible places. It was truly a once in a lifetime experience as we were able to visit the Ann Frank House in Amsterdam, go to the top of the Eiffel Tower, take132 steps underground into the catacombs, and I even tried an escargot!
I am looking forward to another wonderful school year at Grant Elementary.
Warmly,
Amy Chapman-Pinta
