Welcome to Team Allen! I am thrilled to fill room 12 with second grade learners each and every day! 

 Livonia Public Schools has always been home to me.  I was once a student in the same seat that I now stand before each day.  I graduated from Churchill High School and continued my education at Western Michigan University.  I received a Bachelor's Degree in Education, and a Masters Degree in 'The Teaching of Reading.'  I have applied my education at various grade levels right here at Coolidge Elementary!  I look forward to enjoying each day in the second grade classroom, shaping the minds of our future.  I understand the responsibility and impact I have on young children.  I believe all children can learn and be successful!  Coming to school each day needs to be exciting and I enjoy creating fun and eventful ways in which to reach the children with the required curriculum. 

I not only grew up and teach in Livonia, but I am also raising my family here.  I have three boys, ages 22, 19, and 14.  My school aged boys head off each morning to a Livonia Public School, just like mom!  We are a very sport-oriented family; hockey, baseball, and golf keep us active.  The boys are involved in these team sports, as well as enjoying frequent visits to cheer our professional teams on. 

My hobbies include reading and traveling.  As a family, we enjoy many vacation destinations in Michigan!  I am a big fan of all that our state has to offer and we enjoy every inch of it each summer.
