Degrees and Certifications:
Hello! I am Miss. McDermott and I am the Resource Room Teacher here at Roosevelt. I grew up in Livonia, attended Livonia Public Schools and graduated from Churchill High School. My family and friends have all planted their roots in Livonia as have I. I graduated from the University of Michigan with a Bachelors's degree in Education specializing in Learning Disabilities. I am a certified general education teacher with a passion for teaching students with many diverse needs.
In my spare time, I love to cook, go camping, hike, garden (we have a huge vegetable garden) and spend time with my four-legged friend, Hershey.
Office Hours: Friday 10:30 - 11:30 (Click this link to join on Fridays)
I will be available for video conferencing every Friday from 10:30-11:30 to help answer any questions or concerns you may have related to assignments, IEP's, or outreach for additional supports. This is a time for additional support for staff and families. These meetings are optional and will be held in 15-minute increments. In cases where I may be meeting with other parents, you will be placed in a waiting room (through ZOOM) until the previous meeting has ended in order to ensure confidentiality. You are welcome to continue to email me with any questions you may have throughout the week as well.
