Welcome from Ms. Urso
Greetings Holmes Community,
Welcome back to the 2019-2020 school year! It is my hope that each of our families had a wonderful summer break. It is always nice to enjoy the summer months at a slower pace. It allows for time to relax, reflect, and recharge for many of us, including myself.
The opening of another school year is always so exciting for me. Regardless of how many openings and closings I have completed during my many years with the district, each one is always filled with excitement. That being said, the 2019-2020 school year is no different. We have a very exciting year planned at Holmes and anxiously await our most important members… your children.
I am honored to have been afforded the opportunity to serve as the principal of Holmes Middle School. This year will mark my 28th in the district and the start of my 16th as an administrator. Each of the buildings I have had the opportunity to lead and learn have been outstanding. Holmes, I am certain, will be a place to continue my passion for leading, learning, and continuing to build on the tremendous foundation that the families and staff of Holmes Middle School have laid. I will devote myself to applying my strengths and talents to complement the fantastic work that is done in our community.
I will look forward to interacting with our students and their families in the weeks and months ahead. During this time I will glean a better sense of specific points of pride to the Hawks and opportunities to grow together to make our school a place of fun and academic rigor. I cannot wait to see how our year unfolds as we strive to “shape tomorrow, today” for generation of leaders in lovely Livonia.
It is my honor to serve as your principal. I welcome the opportunity to work with the Holmes staff, members of the community, and most importantly, your children.
Ms. DeAnn Urso
Principal, Holmes Middle School
