• About Mrs. Carlton...

My name is Lori Carlton and I have been teaching for 23 years. I have spent my entire career at Holmes Middle School with the exception of my first year in which I spent half of my day teaching at Riley and the other half at Holmes. I am certified to teach Math and Science. I earned a Bachelor’s degree from The University of MichiganDearborn with a major in Math and a minor in Science. I also have a Masters degree from Eastern Michigan University in Curriculum Development for grades K – 12. I have been married for 19 years and I live in the Holmes area so you may see me out and about in the community. My husband and I have two boys. Adam is thirteen years old and is starting 8th grade at Holmes. My younger son Trevor is ten and he is starting 5th grade at Riley. Some of my favorite hobbies are scrapbooking, reading, bike riding, watching Tiger baseball and gardening. I am happy to have the opportunity to teach your children. I can truly say that I love my job and I take pride in helping my students achieve success in Math. I am a firm believer that life is what you make it and I try to create a positive atmosphere in my classroom in which risk taking is encouraged to help my students reach their individual potential.
