About Mrs. Carlton...
My name is Lori Carlton and I have been teaching for 26 years. I have spent my entire career at Holmes Middle School with the exception of my first year, in which I spent half of my day teaching at Riley and the other half at Holmes. I am certified to teach Math and Science. I earned a Bachelor’s degree from The University of Michigan-Dearborn with a major in Math and a minor in Science. I also have a Masters degree from Eastern Michigan University in Curriculum Development for grades K – 12. I have been married for 21 years and I live in the Holmes area, so you may see me out and about in the community. My husband and I have two boys. Adam is sixteen years old and is starting 11th grade at Stevenson. My younger son, Trevor, is thirteen and he is starting 8th grade at Holmes. Some of my favorite hobbies are scrapbooking, reading, bike riding, watching Tiger baseball and gardening. I am happy to have the opportunity to teach your children. I can truly say that I love my job and I take pride in helping my students achieve success in Math. I am a firm believer that life is what you make it and I try to create a positive atmosphere in my classroom in which risk-taking is encouraged to help my students reach their individual potential.
