• GSA stands for Gay Straight Alliance

as well as Gender & Sexuality Alliance.

    All are welcome.

    We meet Fridays in E-20.

Our club has three main functions:

    Support
GSA provides safety and confidentiality to students struggling with their identities as gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, or questioning. This includes students experiencing harassment at school because of their actual or perceived sexual orientation, gender identity, or expression. GSA provides one of the few safe spaces for students to express themselves.

    Socializing
GSA provides a sense of community and a space for LGBTQ and straight ally youth to build a social network where identity is respected. We eat snacks, watch motivational video clips, discuss current events, and have fun. GSA lessens the isolation LGBTQ students might otherwise experience.

    Activism
GSA works to educate ourselves and the broader school community about sexual orientation and gender identity issues. Topics include LGBTQ history, pride, or awareness, as well as teaching others how to be better allies for LGBTQ students or how to be more empathetic toward others in general.
