Mrs. Stephanie Manske

Welcome,

I am excited to teach Child Development, Foods 1 and Early Child Care Education.  I look forward to bringing enthusiasm and creativity to the art of cooking.  My background in counseling brings enrichment to the student competencies for Childl Development and Early Childhood Education.  I graduated from Ryerson University (Toronto, Ontario) with a B.A.A in Foods, Nutrition, Consumer and Family Studies.  I earned my B.Ed. from The University of Western Ontario, in Intermediate and Senior Education for Family and Consumer Science and Health.  I am currently working on a Master of Arts in School Counseling, at Eastern Michigan University.  I began my teaching career in Toronto and taught Fashion, Textiles, Food and Nutrition, Parenting, Child Development, Life Management, Personal Living and Interior Design.  This will be my sixth year of teaching in the Livonia Public School District.

Beyond teaching, I am a part-time student and sponsor of the Foods Club at Stevenson High School.  All students are welcome to stop by Foods Club on Tuesday after school where we make unique and fun foods.

Outside of the classroom, I love to spend time with my family. My husband Fred works in Market Research.  My son attends Eastern Michigan University studying business.  My oldest daughter attends Berkeley while she completes her Phd in Organic Chemistry.  My middle daughter Brianna is a sophmore at MSU and my youngest daughter Alena is a senior in high school.  As a family, we love to go to the cottage, swim in the ocean, play poker, go to Camp Dearborn and eat chocolate chip cookies.

I look forward to a great year.  Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have questions or concerns during the semester.
