    CAPA Acting Two

Acting Two explores writing and performing in a more progressive and intricate way. Students are encouraged to use class time wisely in the creation, rehearsal and editing of material as it is taught in a workshop atmosphere. Acting Two students will research a Broadway musical and present to the class to deepen the student's knowledge of shows that have graced the Broadway stage. We will also engage in community service for our CAPA Cares project. Sound, lights, costumes and props are more carefully considered in Acting Two as the students build their knowledge of what makes a successful scene. Juries are also performed. Students will need a notebook just for this class to journal and write in.

    CAPA Acting Three

Acting Three will delve into the ever popular makeup unit, where we will explore special effects cuts and bruises, fantasy and old age makeup. These students are challenged in all areas of acting, writing and learn to direct as well. We also investigate what it takes to put on a show...all aspects of producing and the jobs that must be done to make it successful. Minstashows are created and performed along with original and already written monologues and scenes. Reading and analyzing scripts is also a part of this class. Juries are kicked up a notch and performed as well. Students will need a notebook just for this class.

    CAPA Special Studies

This class creates the BIG SHOW, a full length show written from scratch by the entire class. This is performed for the entire CAPA program and is a fond memory for everyone involved. Along with the BIG SHOW, these students are writing, directing and acting consistently in many different forms. Slam poetry is introduced and we work with the dancers to create a dual performance. Juries are also a part of this class along with audition preparation. Students will need a notebook just for this class.
