• ELA 10 Students will work on developing skills in reading, writing, speaking, listening and viewing through guided readings, extending writing projects and discussions of essential questions. Students will have access to two instructors in this class. The focus will be on grammar, spelling, reading strategies and vocabulary acquisition.

     

    ACC ELis A 10 will enhance their ability to read closely and critically from a variety of texts. They will demonstrate mastery of research and informational writing in addition to public speaking. Several novels will be assigned and a unit on poetry is covered.

     

    Humanities students will pursue a more independent course of study. These students will routinely work in research groups and present their findings to the class on a variety of topics. Informational texts dominate the reading assignments and digital media is a prominent feature of the course.
