PSAT/NMSQT
The PSAT/NMSQT is administered once in the fall each year at Churchill High School. Students who choose to take the PSAT/NMSQT are automatically screened for the National Merit Scholarship Corporation, an academic competition for recognition and scholarships. (The PSAT 10 and PSAT 8/9 are not considered for entry.)
Approximately 16,000 of the 1.6 million entrants nationwide qualify for this prestigious honor, and they are invited to compete to become National Merit Finalists. Students are only able to qualify as National Merit Semi-Finalists if they are juniors who have taken the official (optional) test. We are proud to say that Churchill has had as many as seven finalists in any given year.
The PSAT/NMSQT administration date for the 2021-22 school year is Wednesday, October 13th, 2021. There is no cost to take the PSAT/NMSQT this year.
Prior to taking the test, students should review the PSAT Student Guide online. At 7:25 a.m. on the morning of October 13th, students should report to his/her assigned testing room. Students will get a verification notice with their assigned room and will receive a school business absence for the day. Each student will be expected to report promptly at 7:25 a.m. or to notify the Counseling Office of any cancellations in advance. Students must bring a picture ID, two #2 pencils and a calculator.
