About the Program

The Western Wayne County Program for the Visually Impaired has a goal and a vision to be an innovative organization for the education and advocacy of the blind and visually impaired.


Children and individuals between the ages of 0 to 26 who meet any of the following criteria:
  • Central vision acuity of 20/70 or less in the better eye after correction.
  • Peripheral field is restricted to not more than 20 degrees.
  • Diagnosed with a progressively deteriorating eye condition.
