Director of Human Resources, Anthony Abbate
Anthony Abbate grew up in Livonia and attended Cass, Holmes, and Stevenson before enrolling in the University of Michigan, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education and a master’s in Public Administration. He taught 8th grade US History from 2003-2011 in South Lyon Community Schools, a community he still serves as a Trustee of the SLCS Board of Education.
Anthony returned home, professionally, to Livonia in 2011 when he was hired as the Assistant Principal of Frost Middle School, going on to serve as AP and then Principal of Frost from 2011-2021, an experience he considers to be among the greatest honors of his life. He joined the LPS Cabinet team in January of 2021 when he was hired as the Director of Personnel & District Services, and he feels fortunate to work among a team of amazing professionals within the LPS Human Resources Department and across the many divisions of our Central Office.
