WPAC
Wayne County Parent Advisory Committee (WCPAC)
The WCPAC is comprised of members who represent each public school district and the public school academies in Wayne County. Each Intermediate School District (ISD) in Michigan is required to appoint
a Parent Advisory Committee (PAC). PAC Representatives “shall consist of parents of students with disabilities” (Michigan Administrative Rules for Special Education {MARSE} 2018).
WCPAC Members actively participate in the development of the Wayne County Plan for Delivery of Special Education Programs and Services. By law, the parent advisory committee can also give input to the county on other matters that the committee deems appropriate. In addition, WCPAC Members serve as an information source to other parents, staff members and other interested individuals. Some WCPAC Members even serve as special education advocates.
