Hello! I would like to use this page as an introduction, give some background about myself, and also explain a bit about my role here at Cleveland. Looking forward to a great year at Cleveland supporting our Eagles!
I began in LPS at Kennedy, then Riley and finally Churchill (go Chargers!) I loved my time as a student , and am enjoying my time educating and caring for our students even more! I appreciate the solid foundation my education provided me, which enabled me to reach my dreams and achieve my goals. I wish the same for your students! Before my time in Livonia, I worked for 14 years in Waterford Public Schools as a teacher, reading specialist, and literacy coach.
I live in Royal Oak with my husband Matt, who works in advertising. Together we have 2 sons, Jackson (6) and Benjamin (4). Our boys keep us very busy and have a lot of energy! In our spare time we like going on family adventures like hikes, bike rides and day trips to the zoo. We also like to watch a lot of football in our house! My husband is a U of M fan, and I am a Sparty through and through, itś quite the divided house on UM vs. MSU game day!
In my role as an Elementary Support Teacher, I work closely with Mrs. Ballard. Together, we work to support Cleveland students and teachers in any way we can. Mrs. Ballard works closely with students and provides academic, health, behavior and emotional support for students. We both work closely with teachers to support students with health care plans. I focus on the academic progress of our students, as well as supporting students with behavioral needs throughout the school year.
We both work closely with Mr. Witherspoon, teachers , students, and parents to help them engage, empower and educate their students regardless of their ability level. We see parent involvement as a crucial piece to a successful educational journey for our students.
Please do not hesitate to reach out with questions, comments or concerns you may have regarding your childś academic progress or emotional well-being. Support teachers can serve as a resource for you or your child, when handling issues and concerns that come up throughout the year.
