Mrs. Anne Sherwood

Hello, and thank you for checking out my website!

My name is Anne Sherwood. I have been teaching in Livonia since 1996.  I began my teaching career at Hayes Elementary, where I was a student teacher in third grade and a long-term substitute teacher in third and sixth grades.  I taught second, fifth and sixth grades at Washington Elementary from 1997-2006.  Since 2006, I have been teaching 5th grade at Johnson and I absolutely love teaching here!

I am originally from Port Huron, and I moved to Livonia after graduating from Eastern Michigan University. My family includes my husband, Andy, and our two daughters. Both of our girls attend school in LPS.

I believe in a classroom atmosphere of mutual respect.  In our classroom community, we must be supportive of one another because education is a team effort – no one can do it alone.  I expect my students to make a commitment to learning, as I have made a commitment to guide them along the way. We must be a team – teachers, parents and students.  This is essential to our success throughout the year. We will work hard this year, and it will not always be easy, but I have total confidence in the power of working together for the best interests of our children.  I have great faith in my students and their families and I am certain that this will be a year full of growth and achievement.

As always, I am looking forward to an awesome school year!

Sincerely,

Anne Sherwood
