Hello Johnson families!  My name is Heather Barnes and I am one of the fifth grade teachers here at Johnson.  

I earned my Bachelor’s Degree from Central Michigan University with teaching certificates in both general and special education.  (Fire Up Chips!!!)  I earned my Master's Degree in Reading from Western Michigan University.  I've spent the majority of my career teaching fifth grade, and I absolutely love this age level!  I have also taught special education and second grade.  

I grew up in Livonia, went through Livonia Public Schools, and still reside in Livonia.  I have a wonderful husband, an amazing daughter, and two adorable cats.  In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family, going for long walks, and reading.
