Dear Riley Family,

Welcome to fifth grade! My name is Claudia Zimmer and I have been teaching at Riley 9 years. I have been teaching in Livonia since 1998. In addition to teaching fifth, I have also taught second, fourth and sixth grades. I feel my experience helps me know where kids were, where they are, and where they need to go academically.  I love fifth grade! (In fact, this year I will have my own fifth grader at home. So this year I will be a fifth grade parent as well as teacher!) In addition to my fifth grader, Sarah, I also have a daughter, Katie, who is a senior this year and a son, Tom, in college. My goal for your child is to have the most successful year in school yet. To that end, I am hopeful that you will communicate any questions or concerns with me. I believe that open communication is the key to a great year. Please encourage your child to ask me questions, too! Teaming together is how we encourage learning for all!
