The 2020-2021 school year will be my 16th year of teaching and my 10th year at Franklin High School, having previously taught at Stevenson High School, Churchill High School, Frost Middle School, Millbrook High School (Raleigh, NC) and Harper Creek High School (Battle Creek, MI). I am looking forward to another year of AP US History, AP Microecomoics, and Economics. I grew up in Homer, Michigan and graduated from Homer High School, with a graduating class of 50. In 2003, I received two bachelor's degrees from the University of Michigan--one in Education and one in Sports Management and Communications. Later I earned a master's degree in K-12 Administration from Eastern Michigan University.
Beyond my teaching duties, I am the social studies department chair, the freshman class advisor, to co-founder of Franklin's Board Game Club, and I currently coach cross country and track at Frost Middle School.
Outside of the classroom, I love to spend time with my family. My eldest daughter is in second grade this year and my youngest daughter is in preschool. My wife is a media literacy specialist in Rochester. As a family we love to travel, cheer on UofM and Detroit sport teams, and read books.
