The 2019-2020 school year will be my 15th year of teaching and my 9th year at Franklin High School, having previously taught at Stevenson High School, Churchill High School, Frost Middle School, Millbrook High School (Raleigh, NC) and Harper Creek High School (Battle Creek, MI). I am looking forward to another year of AP US History, AP Microecomoics, and Economics. I great up in Homer, Michigan and graduated from Homer High School. In 2003, I received two bachelor's degrees from the University of Michigan--one in Education and one in Sports Management and Communications. Later I earned a master's degree in K-12 Administration from Eastern Michigan University.
Beyond my teaching duties, I am the social studies department chair, the freshman class advisor, to co-founder of Franklin's Board Game Club, and currently coach cross country at Frost Middle School, as well as track at Emerson Middle School.
Outside of the classroom, I love to spend time with my family. My eldest daughter will be in first grade this year and my youngest daughter will be in preschool. My wife is a media literacy specialist in Rochester. As a family we love to travel, cheer on UofM and Detroit sport teams, and read books.
