Degrees and Certifications:
My husband Shaun and I live in Livonia with our son Logan and our daughter Sloan. Logan will be a third grader at Hoover Elementary this year, and Sloan will be in kindergarten. We got a new puppy in June. Luca is an Australian Shepard mixed with a labradoodle. We enjoy traveling, being outside, cooking, and spending time with family and friends. We are also avid Detroit fans, we frequent Tiger's and Wings games! For the past fifteen years I have had the pleasure of teaching at Holmes Middle School. I was a special education teacher for eleven of those years, where I co-taught Math for 13 years, and almost every subject that Holmes offers. I am excited to be your 7th grade Math teacher this year.
I received my Bachelor's Degree from Central Michigan University, Go Chips!. I am certified in Elementary Education, Special Education, Mathematics and Language Arts. I student taught in both Plymouth and Ghana, West Africa! I completed my Master's Degree at Madonna University for Educational Leadership.
Something about me that often surprises people is that I am in the Army Reserves. I joined after my freshmen year in college as a combat medic. In 2007 I was deployed to Iraq, with a surgical team, and spent a year overseas. In 2009, I received my commission, and am now CPT O'Connor. Im March of 2020 I was mobilized with a medical team in response to COVID19. I have served for 18 years and plan to retire after completing 20 years of service.
