Degrees and Certifications:
Ms. Loiselle's Classroom
Welcome back to school! My name is Casey Loiselle and I am so happy to be your child’s teacher this year. This is my third year teaching in this classroom at Emerson Middle School. Emerson is a great place to be, and I cannot wait for this year! Amy Tartaglia is my wonderful paraprofessional that will be joining our classroom.
I am a big believer in working together as a team in the best interest of your child. Since you know your child best, I look forward to your input at anytime. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me by note, phone or email. A weekly communication sheet will go home each night in your child’s folder. Please review and add any comments or questions. Please leave the sheet in the folder throughout the week. I will collect them every Monday and add a new one.
At Emerson, your child will follow a modified general education curriculum, called the Common Core Essential Elements. If at any time you have questions about the curriculum, please feel free to ask. During the first few weeks of school, we will be spending a great deal of time on classroom rules and routines, beginning of the year assessments, and getting to know each other. At Emerson, the motto is “Soaring to Excellence with Respect, Responsibility, and Learning”. We will have “I can” statements that incorporate these ideas. They will be posted in the classroom and we will talk about them daily. Students that show they are being respectful, responsible, and doing their best learning will receive “Loiselle Loot” throughout the day. At the end of the week, students will count up their loot and have the opportunity to purchase an item from the class PBS (Positive Behavior Supports) store. If you have any new or gently used items that you would like to donate to the class store, that would be wonderful.
I am so excited to be team teaching again this year with Mrs. Kimberly Colaizzi! She is a very experienced teacher with a true passion for teaching. Her excitement and enthusiasm is contagious. Students in both classes will be switching between our rooms throughout the day for various subjects. At the end of each day, students will be offered a quick afternoon snack. If you would like to send in a snack each day with your child, that would be great, especially if your child follows a specific diet (sugar free, gluten free, etc.) If you would like to donate snack items to the classroom, we would certainly appreciate it. In our classroom we have a severe tree nut allergy. Therefore, no student may bring a snack that contains walnuts, almonds, pecans, cashews, etc. THIS DOES NOT INCLUDE PEANUTS. They may bring in a snack that contains peanut butter. Please let me know right away if your child has any food allergies or restrictions.
Items to be considered for back to school: (please label all items)
-Lunchbag (if your child brings a lunch)
-Bathroom items (if your child needs them)
-Extra pair of clothes to keep at school in a bag (if your child has accidents)
-Gym shoes to wear, bring, or leave at school for Physical Education Class
*If your child takes medication at school, a medication authorization must be filled out. Please do not send medication in backpacks, unless it has been pre-approved and part of a signed plan.
*If your child requires a health care plan or health alert, please let me know immediately.
Donations are not required, but are always appreciated. We can always use cleaning wipes, tissues, hand sanitizer, new or gently used items for the PBS store, plastic baggies, hand wipes, and snack donations for a quick end of the day snack (crackers, pretzels, animal crackers, goldfish, etc.).
I look forward to working together this school year!
