Welcome to Mrs. Lipinski's Home Page!

2020-21 Theme: Hoover Superheroes: Stronger Together

    Hello Fourth Graders and Families!

Welcome to the new school year! I am very excited to begin an amazing school year with you! Fourth grade was my favorite year in school and I hope you will feel the same way. This year Hoover will have five 4th grade teachers: Mrs. Castiglione, Ms. McCurry,  Ms. Skibinski, Ms Smith, and myself. All of the fourth grade teachers (including Mrs. McMurry, whom will be teaching entirely online) will meet weekly to coordinate curriculum and classroom activities.

This year Hoover’s theme is “Hoover Superheroes: Stronger Together.” Working together, we will keep each other safe for face-to-face learning during the pandemic. As a Green School students will be encouraged to Renew, Reuse, and Recycle, as well as, think consciously about conserving our natural resources. We will also continue to promote healthy lifestyles by encouraging healthy eating habits and getting our bodies moving. Please send only healthy snacks to class for morning snack time. At this time we are not a peanut free room. Lunch will be eaten in the classrooms this year.
A great way to stay informed is by receiving classroom e-blasts and Hoover's E-news. I do the majority of my communications through email blasts. I will send out e-blasts informing you of upcoming tests, study guides and practice tests, special events, project due dates, and anything else that comes up. I have signed up all of my parents to our classroom e-blast from your emails provided on the pink cards. If you would like to add an additional email address or change your email address, please send me an email and I will update my master contact list. I may also use Remind (new to me). If Ido, I will send you sign up information.

This year, with COVID19, is unique and has some challenges. I plan to take the students outside (where we can remove our masks) to learn and read as much as possible. Please send a towel for your child to sit on while learning outside. The towel will be kept in each student's locker and sent home weekly for washing. We will have hand sanitizer in each classroom, but it would be handy for each student to a bottle at/on their desk to facilitate quick hand cleaning. If possible, please send a bottle of hand sanitizer for your child's personal use. Unfortunately, due to needing space for social distancing, I am not allowed to have my animals reside in our classroom this year. I am hoping to be able to bring some of them in for visits, but we will see if that will work out.

Take a few minutes to browse through my links and see what resources  are available to you. My website is always under construction. Please check back often for new features, class information, new picture folders, and helpful links.
