Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Jan Bice
I began at Hoover Elementary in 2007 and have been fortunate to be a member of this community. Prior to starting in Livonia, I worked in a high school and in the child welfare system. My master's degree in Social Work is from Wayne State University with a focus on child and family. I'm passionate about helping children be healthy and happy as they learn and grow.
As the Elementary Support Teacher my responsibilities are very diverse. Part of the day I am providing reading interveniton to students selected for additional support. Additionally, I help children who may be struggling emotionally, behaviorally or socially. My goal is to work closely with the parents, teacher and the child to develop a success plan. Another important aspect of my job is to assist children with health issues such as diabetes, food allergies, seizure disorders or other medical concerns. I can provide the necessary medical forms and develop an action plan to meet each child's needs.
I am a resource for parents as they navigate through the elementary education experience. Please reach out to me if I can be of any assistance. Email is the best form of contact and I will try to respond within 24 hours.
