Ms. Janice Skibinski

Welcome

My name is Janice Skibinski and I would like to extend to each of you a Warm Welcome to Fourth Grade! I am looking forward to a wonderful year filled with learning, laughter and fun!  I feel very fortunate to have the opportunity to work with your child to make this year both meaningful and memorable. I hope your family is as excited as I am to begin this awesome adventure together!!

About Me

I have been a teacher for Livonia Public Schools for over 25 years.  I have taught every grade level from kindergarten through sixth grade, with the exception of fifth.  I am a graduate of Eastern Michigan University, where I received both my Bachelor's and Master's degrees, as well as a state endorsement in Early Childhood Education.

I have three fabulous children of my own, who also attended Livonia Public Schools.  My daughter Nicole is a graduate of Central Michigan University.  My eldest son, Matt, attends Miami of Ohio and is a member of their football team.  GO REDHAWKS!! My youngest son, David attends Churchill High School.  I also have one adorable little dog names Chloe.

Spending time with my children, family and friends is definitely at the top of my list for favorite things to do.  Many of my favorite activities involve nature.  I love to spend time in my butterfly garden at home, as well as hiking various nature trails and fishing.  Photography and reading are also favorites of mine.  In my free time I am a Stampin' Up demonstrator and teach crafting classes.

 Communication

I believe communication between home and school is vital to having a successful school year.  Please do not hesitate to contact me if you ever have any questions or concerns.  The best way to reach me is through email or a note in your child's planner.  I will be sending home regular updates regarding what is happening in class to help assist you in staying informed.  Please be sure to sign up for my class eblasts and read your child's planner nightly.
