Ms. Charochak

Hello Hoover Families!

My name is Lori Charochak and I am excited to be starting my 37th year of teaching with another wonderful group of first graders.  It is always so rewarding for me to see how much the students grow as we progress through the year.  They discover the magic of reading, become more confident writers, and learn how to form friendships by working together.  We are going to be "WILD" about learning this year!!!

I hope everyone had a fun summer and made lots of happy memories to cherish.  I love traveling and this summer I visited Gulf Shores Alabama, Del Ray Beach in Florida, Mississippi, and of course our great state, too.  I also visited family in Pittsburgh and had some company at my house.  I am a University of Michigan graduate with a BA in Elementary Education, a ZA endorsement for Early Childhood Education and also received my Master's Degree in Elementary Education from The University of Michigan. I have received The Golden Apple Award from our district and had the honor of being Livonia's Elementary Teacher of the Year for 2008-2009.  I have loved every minute of my teaching career and knew in second grade that I was going to be a teacher.  I attended Grant Elementary, Whitman Jr. High and am a graduate of Churchill High School.

On Tuesday, I will eagerly be waiting the arrival of my new class members and I'm sending each of them a BIG Feel Good Hug!!!  I will be standing outside waiting to greet each one.  Please bring your child to Door 9 (First Grade Doors) near the North playground and I will escort them in.  They may bring their supplies, too.  Our room is ready and I am so excited to share your child's first grade year with him/her.  I am always here for both you and your child to answer any questions or help with any concerns you may have.  I want to make First Grade a great year for both you ad your child.  See you soon!
