  • A Little About Me

Welcome to first grade at Roosevelt Elementary. My name is Amy Truchan (pronounced TRUE-SH-ON). I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself. This will be my 25th year of teaching at Roosevelt but my 12th year at teaching first grade. I have taught kindergarten for 11 years and 2nd & 4th at the beginning of my teaching career.

I grew up and attended elementary through college here in Livonia. I worked at Jackson Center for four years right out of high school. I've been married for twenty-two years. I adopted 2 adorable but mischievous cats (Kingsley {all black} & Sherby) that are now 5 years old and are truly like raising children. I am looking forward to getting to know you and your family as well.

  • Supply List

I have the suggested supply list printed below. Your child can bring their own items on the first day. PLEASE take the supplies out of their packaging before coming to school. Kids often struggle getting it open, accidentally throw some away still stuck inside, or it spills all over the floor. Some items are best if they are marked with your child's name on it such as markers, crayon boxes, and scissors. I have tables in my room so your child will be storing their personal supplies in a plastic shoe box.
