Mrs. Herrick
Hello,
I am a certified Physical Education and Health Instructor. I have taught for the Livonia Public School district since 2000. I enjoy teaching students how to take care of the most important muscle in their body. Yes, the heart! Physical Education is a class filled with learning, fitness and social growth. My goal is to provide all students with a quality Physical Education program where they feel safe, confident and successful.
I earned a BS at Eastern Michigan University and completed a Master of Arts, as a Learning Disabilities Specialist, at Madonna University. I volunteer with various organizations assisting Special Needs children. I enjoy traveling with family and friends, gardening and playing sports. As a mother of 2 and grandmother of 4, I understand how important a positive school experience is.
In Physical Education class I encourage sportsmanship, teamwork and personal growth. I find sports and exercise to be a great stress reliever and an opportunity to develop character. I believe in teaching the students the value of being active and making lifelong healthy choices.
The greatest part of teaching is the students teach me too!
