• From the desk of Stevenson Principal Pete Mazzoni:

    Stevenson Community,

It is with great excitement that I share with you the recommendation for our next Athletic Director at Stevenson High School. Personally, I have known Arnie since my days as a teacher/coach at Churchill. He is committed to serving and leading our students.

Our recommendation to receive the passing of the torch from Ms. Hyman and serve as Stevenson’s next AD is Arnold “Arnie” Muscat!  Arnie’s path to Athletic Administration is unique in that he is wrapping up a tremendously successful 32-year career outside of education working as a Senior Launch Manager for Ford Motor Company.  He is of course also deeply involved in and committed to the world of high school athletics, with his work in LPS dating back to 1996. He is currently working as the Assistant AD of Divine Child High School since the summer of 2021, in addition to previously completing over 400 hours of AD internship with Marc Hage at CHS and supporting athletic events at Stevenson and Franklin.  He has coached LPS students in football, hockey, and soccer, as well as led fundraising efforts for athletics as the co-creator of the Churchill Athletic Patrons.  Over the years Arnie has networked and built lasting relationships throughout the Livonia community, and has prepared well with this eventual opportunity in mind as a goal of his career.

Arnie holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Michigan State University, and Master of Business Administration from Wayne State University, and a Master of Educational Leadership from Madonna University.  He also brings NIAAA Certification as an Athletic Administrator and several additional certs from the American Red Cross.

Arnie, like our other AD recommendations, came to us with wonderful references, brought a true passion for LPS athletics to his interviews, and is driven to serve our students in his new role at SHS.  The appointment was approved by the BOE on May 2, 2022. Mr. Muscat is excited to get started.

Please help me welcome Mr. Muscat to the Stevenson community. As time passes, you can anticipate seeing Arnie around the school and at after-school events. In talking with Arnie is looking forward to joining our team.

    All the best
