My name is Amy Halimi and I am excited to be back at Roosevelt Elementary! I am eager to engage and motivate your child to be the best they can be and have a successful school year.

 Ever since I can remember I have had a deep passion for teaching. I received my Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education in 2006 from Eastern Michigan University and my Masters degree in reading from Northern Michigan University in 2017. From there, I began my teaching career in Fort Myers Florida teaching fourth grade for three years. After having my first son I moved back to Michigan and taught first grade for four years and moved up to third, and recently back down to 2nd grade. What a fun age it is to teach 2nd grade here at Roosevelt!

In my sixteen years of teaching I have done a lot of learning myself. I have learned through a plethora of professional developments and trainings how to be an effective teacher. I have gained a lot of experience teaching ESL students as well as students with a wide range of ability levels. I have worked closely with parents and coaches to create learning plans that fit the needs of all students in my classroom. I want you to feel comfortable in knowing that I will do all that I can to ensure your child is reaching their maximum potential.

I would like to extend my hand so that we can become partners in your child’s education. As we begin the year, I would like you to know that my door is always open for questions or concerns.
