Greetings from Dr. Danielle Daniels

  • It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to Kennedy Elementary. I am honored to serve this wonderful community of hard working and committed staff, students and families! Livonia Public Schools is one of the best districts in the state of Michigan and I am grateful to be a part of it.

Kennedy Elementary has a long history of providing quality education for all students. We are a school community that prides itself in academic achievement; family involvement; and a positive, caring learning environment for all. We currently have approximately 400 students in grades K-4.

Our goal at Kennedy is to have open, ongoing communication and cooperation between home and school. We welcome the opportunity to team with you to make the early elementary years as pleasant and productive as possible.

We feature an exciting curriculum designed to meet the needs of each individual learner. We are an AdvancED accredited school and are continually working on enhancing our curriculum. Our teaching is in line with the Michigan Department of Education’s Priority Standards, as well as, research based implementation of best practice. Students also receive weekly instruction in the areas of art, music, physical education, and library media.

The staff at Kennedy Elementary school is dedicated to student learning and increasing student achievement. Our PTA (parent teacher association) is an outstanding addition to our school team. Their constant support through their volunteer and fund raising effort have a significant impact on our students’ educational environment.

I am honored to be a part of the Kennedy community. It is my belief that parents and our community are our partners in the educational process. Please feel free to always share your thoughts, ideas, and suggestions.

    Dr. Daniels' Professional Life

I began my career in the Springfield, MO, where I earned my undergraduate teaching degree.  From there I worked in Kill Devil Hills, NC at First Flight Elementary where I daily could see the Wright Brother’s Monument.  I loved teaching down south however, Michigan, being my home, I quickly made my way back up north. I was hired in 2003 teaching 6th grade at Taylor Elementary, then 2nd grade at Roosevelt Elementary, and spent one year as our district Literacy Facilitator. I landed in the principalship at Randolph Elementary in 2007 and fell in love with my job! Teaching is my passion and working with children has always been my dream!

    Dr. Daniels' Education

I completed my Bachelors degree in Elementary and Middle School Education with a concentration in Science at Evangel University in Springfield, MO. This is a small private university that offered high quality education in an intimate setting. I then completed my Masters degree in Education with an emphasis on Differentiated instruction in Literacy and Math from Regent University, Norfolk, VA.

In June of 2009, I completed my Ph.D. in Educational Leadership for K-12 Education and conducted a two year dissertation on education leadership in the midst of curricular changes. My schooling was completed at Capella University outside of Minnesota.

    Dr. Daniels' Personal Life

I am a mom to three amazing daughters. I have an adult daughter named Samantha. Samantha was my foster daughter for three years, and became a Daniels when she was 13. Chloe and Ava are my tween daughters and we live in Plymouth, so our past times are trips to downtown Plymouth's fountain in Kellogg Park, Lifetime Fitness in Canton and spending time riding bikes in our neighborhood. Being previous residents of Livonia and with family living in the area we are at the Livonia Recreation Center often and we enjoy the beautiful parks in Livonia with friends. We are fortunate to have much of our family in the area!

    Dr. Daniels and Kennedy
