Welcome to Johnson Upper Elementary School! We are pleased that you have joined our Johnson team. Johnson Upper Elementary has a history of providing quality education for all students. We are a school community that prides itself in academic achievement; family involvement; and a positive, caring learning environment for all. We currently have approximately 600 students in grades 5-6.
Our goal at Johnson is to have open, ongoing communication and cooperation between home and school. We welcome the opportunity to team with you to make the elementary years as pleasant and productive as possible.
We feature an exciting curriculum designed to meet the needs of each individual learner. We are an AdvancEd accredited school and are continually working on enhancing our curriculum. Our teaching is in line with the Michigan Curriculum Framework and designed to include the new Grade Level Content Expectations, as well as, research based implementation of best practice. Students also receive weekly instruction in the areas of art, music, physical education, and library media.
The staff at Johnson Upper Elementary school is dedicated to student learning and increasing student achievement. Our PTA (Parent Teacher Association) is an outstanding addition to our school team. Their constant support through their volunteer and fund raising efforts have a significant impact on our students’ educational environment.
I am honored to be a part of this community. It is my belief that parents, along with community, are our partners in the educational process. Please feel free to always share your thoughts, ideas, and suggestions. “Together we can make a difference!”
