Webster's Remote Learning Schedule beginning Tuesday, November 17, 2020

Email from Mrs. Boka dated Sunday, November 15, 2020:

Good Morning,

As a follow up to the notification that you received on Friday from the district, we are pausing face-to-face instruction as cases of COVID-19 continue to spike in the Livonia Public Schools area. Beginning Tuesday, November 17th all Webster students, both ACAT and ACT 18, will be transitioning to remote learning and will return to Face to Face instruction on Monday, December 7th. I want to assure you, the Webster staff has been working hard over the past several weeks to build relationships and develop expectations for our students. I have full confidence that our staff and students are fully prepared to make this necessary shift and that our students will continue to be challenged over these next 11 days.

We will spend Monday preparing our students for their remote learning schedule. Teachers will be providing students with necessary materials that will be needed during this time away. In addition they will be reviewing Google Classroom, online learning expectations, submitting assignments and using online applications to ensure the success of students over the next 11 days.  ACT 18 staff will prepare students’ learning binders for their time away from us. Webster's Daily Time schedule for each program can be found here:  (attached above).

I am so proud of our staff and students and their ability to adapt to the challenges 2020 has brought their way. Our November character element of GRIT seems most appropriate! I know the stress this may cause for so many families, but let me assure you, our students are going to be fine and we are here for them and YOU!  Every educator within Livonia Public Schools is going to meet your students where they are and take them where they need to be. We are all going to make it through this pandemic, together.

Let’s celebrate who we are tomorrow with an impromptu spirit day - wear your Webster or wildcat wear to show our unity. I know many teachers have already started reaching out to their students and families and will continue to do so over the next several days. I will update you as information becomes available, and as always please contact me if you have any questions or concerns. Be safe and well.

Fondly,

Lora Boka
