So apparently, I spoke to soon this weekend in my email. We have had a variety of ailments this week at Roosevelt Elementary School. Here is what we have done to address the situation.
Mr. Graham and our evening custodians, Mr. Nate and Mr. Paul, engaged in deep cleaning procedures last night. Thank you to Mr. Graham for working overtime in care of our students.
Classroom meetings have focused on personal hygiene with an emphasis on covering your face when sneezing and coughing and regular hand washing.
Shared classroom materials have been limited as much as possible.
Here is what we need from you:
Do not send your child to school if they are sick. I understand this is an inconvenience, but the common good must be considered. My weekend letter Sick Children and When to Keep Home gives a thorough overview of this topic. I have attached it again for your convenience.
Pick up your child as soon as possible if your child presents symptoms at school. If you are not available, we will notify other contacts that you have listed on your child's Emergency Care Card.
Hopefully, more consistent weather will help but, in the meantime, there is plenty in our circle of control we can do to help keep our Roosevelt Tigers healthy.
