• Subscribe to emails

    When you register your student in the district, you will be automatically subscribed to messages from the school(s) and the district.

    SchoolMessenger, our notifications provider, also allows users to subscribe manually. This option is useful if:

    • You would like to receive messages from schools other than those that your student attends
    • You registered your student in the summer months and would like to receive messages in the period between your registration and the student data system roll-over to the new school year
    • You have family or caregivers who would like to receive district and school messages.

    Subscribers will receive general school/district messages only. Student-specific communications (i.e. attendance, food service account notices) will be sent only to the guardians designated on the student’s record.

    How to subscribe to emails

    This process is most easily completed on a computer, but is also available on mobile devices.

    1. Click here to visit the SchoolMessenger user portal for LPS. Or, copy and paste this link into your browser: 
      https://asp.schoolmessenger.com/livoniapublicschools/subscriber
    2. Under the heading "First time user?" click "Sign up now" (located near the bottom of the page).
    3. Enter your email address and designate a password.
    4. Click "Create account," then check your inbox for the confirmation email.
    5. Once you've activated your account, select the types of notifications you'd like to receive.
    6. Click "save," then follow the prompts to add any additional contact information you'd like to receive.

    If you are not receiving emails during the school year, please contact your child's school first to confirm that your email address is updated on the student record. If you have other questions about emails, contact us at communications@livoniapublicschools.org.

LPS Parent App

  • LPS offers an interactive parent app hosted through Blackboard, our web provider. 

    If you are new to the district, or have not previously utilized the app:

    1. Email communications@livoniapublicschools.org to request a temporary login. Please do this before downloading the app, as prior download may disrupt the login creation process. 
      Please write "Blackboard app" in the subject of your email, and include your name and your child's school in the message.
    2. Follow the link in the login email to create a password. Please note that the temporary login expires after 24 hours, so you will need to complete this step within that period.
    3. Once you've activated your account, visit your app store to download the app by searching for "Livonia Public Schools."
    4. Log in with the password you created in step 2, then follow the prompts to customize the app to your preferences.

    Please note: the Student Info icon is your link to ParentConnect. When prompted for a login for this section, please use your ParentConnect login (not your app login). Once you sign in, you'll be able to view your student's information right in the app!

  • Tips to receive school emails and calls

    Two-way communication is a top priority in our school district, and email is one of several tools we use to communicate quickly and directly with you. We want to make sure all of our parents and guardians are receiving emails from their child’s school and from the district.

    Please see the following tips if you are having trouble receiving emails from your child’s school.

    Q: I have not received emails this school year. How can I make sure my email address is on file?

    A: Email addresses are pulled from student records. Parents verify and update this information in ParentConnect at the beginning of each school year. Contact your child’s school secretary to verify the email address on the record is correct.

    Q: I tried to access the Parent Portal to check my settings, but I forgot my user name and password. How can I access that information?

    A: On the log-in screen, you will see a link called “Forgot Your Password?” Click on the link, and an email will be sent to you. If you cannot see that link on the log-in screen, try a non-mobile device or switch to a different browser. If you still have trouble, email parentconnect@livoniapublicschools.org to make the request. 

    PARENT CONNECT

    Parent Connect allows parents to see their student(s) academic progress (at secondary level), class schedules (at secondary level), assignments (at secondary level), attendance, cafeteria accounts and transportation information.

    PHONE CALLS

    Phone notifications are placed to all LPS families and staff members in the event of an emergency or weather-related school closure. Schools may also use the phone messaging system to relay other school news. Please make sure you have your correct phone number on file with your child's school.
